Women in Film: Urszula Modrzyńska

Like most European actors Urszula Modrzyńska's career began in theatre in the northern Polish city of Toruń. It was not long after appearing on stage as a young and upcoming actress, that she received the opportunity to portray several engaging roles working with notable directors, Andrzej Wajda, Aleksander Ford and Agnieszka Holland. In her later years, she returned to theatre, working predominantly in Łódź where she would remain until her passing in 2010. Urszula is remembered for her diverse talent in acting and her striking gaze - a rare beauty in Polish cinema.
